Job Title         :   Lead Java Murex Developer

Responsibilities:

Actively contribute to Application Software development including requirements analysis, testing, performance tuning, optimization, re-use, and scalability of products; demonstrate creative, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.

Participate in detailed design, creation of test plan and test data, perform end-to-end testing and ensuring timely delivery of the solution.

Develop new programs of moderate complexity and scope, working with basic application system designs and specifications, utilizing BNY Mellon's standard development methodology, procedures and techniques.

Provide production support when needed.

BNY Mellon has made a strategic investment in Murex Risk technology; solid knowledge of Murex configuration will be of benefit.

Key projects in 2017 and 2018 include significant expansion and re-engineering in VaR, Counterparty Risk, Front Office, Risk based Margining and Front Office risk management. Business areas include FICC cash and derivatives trading, Equity Derivatives and a significant, market leading securities finance and repo business.

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have the following:

•        Programming skills: Java, Java Spring Batch, Python,  SQL Server

•        Financial product knowledge, such as security master, derivatives trade terms

•        Excellent communication skills, able to work and communicate with business users as well as working with technology partners.

•        Previous hands on experience coding and building enterprise level applications

•        Self-motivated team player

•        Previous experience in market risk development is a plus

•        Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, 10-12 years of experience in software development required, strong Hands on experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
